Question 1

How do I book, and where can I see pricing?

Accepted Answer

Online booking is open 24/7 and is the fastest way to reserve your appointment. Every bookable service shows its current price and duration as you book. Prefer to talk it through? Call the salon and we will happily match you with the right service and artist. Two things are priced beyond what you see as you book. Colour is priced as parts and labour: the colour we use is weighed and charged on top of the listed price. And extensions are fully customized, so we quote after a complimentary in-person consultation.

Question 2

Can I really have multiple services in one visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is the heart of #BePolyglamorous. Imagine a manicure or teeth whitening while your colour processes. Online booking lets you add several services to one appointment and choose an artist for each. To have services at the same time, such as a manicure while your colour processes, call the salon and we will arrange the timing around you.

Question 3

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

If for any reason you need to cancel or change your appointment, please give us 48 hours' notice so we can offer the time to another guest. Once your appointment is less than 24 hours away, it can no longer be changed in any way, and that includes rescheduling it and switching to a different service. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, and no-shows, are charged 100% of the appointment cost to the card on file.

Question 4

Is parking easy?

Accepted Answer

Very. There is free parking right outside the salon in the Belmont Market plaza, so your visit starts without circling the block.

Question 5

Is the salon accessible and inclusive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The salon is wheelchair accessible, has a gender-neutral restroom, and everyone is welcome here. We are a proudly women-owned, LGBTQ+ friendly space. Our stations are semi-private, each with its own curtain, chair, and sink, so if you would like extra privacy during your visit, for any reason, just let us know.

Question 6

When are you open?

Accepted Answer

Monday to Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday until 8:00 p.m. We are closed Sundays and statutory holidays, and we take a short break over the Christmas to New Year period.

Question 7

How often should I cut my hair?

Accepted Answer

Most people wait too long between haircuts, which is why hair can feel rough or seem like it stops growing: split ends are breaking off. On average, a trim every 6 to 8 weeks keeps ends healthy. If you are growing your hair, you can stretch to between 10 and 12 weeks, but regular trims are still important to avoid breakage.

Question 8

How do I know which haircut will suit my face shape?

Accepted Answer

Want a cut that actually flatters your face? It is not about following trends. It is about balance. Round faces suit longer layers, square faces love softness around the jaw, and oval faces can pull off almost anything. The key is framing features you love.

Question 9

What is balayage and how is it different from highlights?

Accepted Answer

Balayage vs highlights is one of the most searched hair questions online. Highlights use foils for a uniform, structured look, while balayage is painted freehand for a softer, sun-kissed blend. Balayage also grows out more seamlessly, meaning fewer touch-ups.

Question 10

Can you put highlights or colour over henna?

Accepted Answer

Thinking of colouring over henna? It is trickier than it looks. Henna coats the hair shaft and can react unpredictably with salon colour. Sometimes it turns green, patchy, or resists lifting altogether. That is why we do strand tests first, and often recommend growing it out fully before attempting any other colour. Highlighting previously hennaed hair with bleach is a hard no.

Question 11

How can I make my hair colour last longer between appointments?

Accepted Answer

Frustrated your colour fades fast? You might be washing away your investment. Use professional quality shampoo, cooler water, and heat protectants. Adding a gloss or toner in between visits keeps your shade vibrant.

Question 12

What is the difference between dry hair and damaged hair?

Accepted Answer

Dry does not always mean damaged. Dry hair lacks moisture, so it feels rough and frizzy. Damaged hair has broken cuticles, often from heat, bleach, or chemical services. Treatments differ: moisture for dryness, protein and repair for damage.

Question 13

What causes frizz, and how do I get rid of it?

Accepted Answer

Frizz is not just humidity. It is often your hair crying out for help. Frizz comes from lifted cuticles due to dryness or damage. The solution is hydrating products, smoothing treatments, and protective styling.

Question 14

What is the difference between a keratin treatment and a Brazilian Blowout?

Accepted Answer

Keratin treatments and Brazilian Blowouts are not the same service. Keratin treatments like the Cezanne treatment provide a keratin-based, formaldehyde-free smoothing and frizz-reducing service that can last around 3 to 5 months while maintaining natural texture. Brazilian Blowouts reduce frizz as well; however, Health Canada issued a warning in 2010 about high levels of formaldehyde in the Brazilian Blowout product line, and formaldehyde can be released during heating and flat-ironing stages.

Question 15

What is the difference between professional hair products and drugstore ones?

Accepted Answer

Professional products are typically more concentrated and formulated with higher-performance ingredients. They are designed to support long-term hair health and repair rather than only masking issues for short-term results.

Question 16

What is the best way to grow my hair faster and healthier?

Accepted Answer

There is no magic pill for faster growth, but there are proven habits. Regular trims, a balanced diet, scalp massage, and professional strengthening treatments all help support healthy growth by preventing breakage.
